Creating a super cute tower card

This card is definitely a perfect choice to make anyone’s day and, that’s why we send cards, right? I saw this card for the first time about 5 months ago on a Facebook group. I fell in love with it, but was not able to look into it before it was gone from my feed. Well, it popped up on my Pinterest a couple of weeks ago! This time, I made sure I paid attention to the details of the card and was able to create a template, which you can download for free below.

This stamp set includes a big sentiment to mix and match with the other ones included in the set. I am also using Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper.

Hello crafty friends! I am always looking for ways to make handmade gifts for family and friends. I think that making a cardholder and several cards is a wonderful little gift. I know I would love it… hint, hint….

I created this card holder using the beautiful Sun Prints Designer Series Paper, Happiness Abounds Bundle ( the dies are unfortunately, unavailable at this time) and the True Beauty Bundle. As always, you will find the video tutorial and the PDF tutorial below.

If you don’t have a Stampin’Up! demonstrator, I would love to spoil you and send you a free catalog. Just send me an email with your name and address. Don’t forget to check out my rewards program!

You will need:

  • The card holder is made of 2 different pieces: the holder itself and the lid.
    • For the holder itself you will need:
      • 1 piece of Navy Blue cardstock measuring 11” x 7⅝”

      • 2 pieces of designer series paper measuring 5-7/8 x 4-1/2”

      • 1 piece of white cardstock that measures 2” x 4-1/2”
      • A Velcro or magnets for closure.
    • For the lid, you will need:
      • 1 piece of Night of Navy cardstock, measuring   5” x 4⅝”.With the 5” side across the  top of the trimmer, score down at ½” and 1½”.
      • 1 piece of basic white cardstock measuring 3-3/8” x 4-1/4”, embossed using the Fern Embossing folder.

Wiper cards

So…. I just discovered Wiper Cards…. and no, I have not been hiding under a rock. I guess that’s because as I am now making videos and learning more about card making, I pay more attention when I am checking out Pinterest or a YouTube video pops up on my feed.

Anyways, wiper cards are cute and super fun to play with. As it happens, when I researched the card, I realized there are several types of wiper cards. Initially, I thought I was going to make a video tutorial with all of them. Thankfully I didn’t, it would probably be a 3 hour long video… So I decided to create a series of wiper card videos with all the variations and sizes I have found. Video Tutorial

This is the card I made in my first “episode“. Isn’t this absolutely adorable?

If you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and are interested in Stampin’ Up! supplies, I’d love to send you complimentary copies of the annual and/or the mini catologs. Simply email me HERE to let me know which catalogs you’re interested in. Please, include your mailing address in the email. The stamp sets I am using are in our Annual Catalog.

Interactive cards tend to be intimidating to make, especially when you, like me, are fairly new to card making, but I am hoping that with the instructions included in the video and all the cutting dimensions, you will be able to create your own card, with no problem.

I also made this card with this mechanism. The mechanism works exactly the same. you can find all the measurements clicking below

You will need:

  1. Pacific Point cardstock panels cut 4 1/4″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 5-1/2′ and 7″.
  2. White heavy cardstock: 2 panels cut 4 1/4″ x 8-3/8″. The front piece will be scored at 1-1/2″ and 3″. The back will be scored at 5-1/2′ and 7″. Most videos tell you to score both pieces at the same 1-1/2″ and 3″, but I feel it can lead to confusion (Maybe I am just easily confused LOL). For the front card, I used the basic border dies, upside down to make the waves. Placed the die, at about 2″ mark.
  3. White heave cardstock for the wiper mechanism 1″ x 1-7/8″ (watch the video for scoring and mounting instructions)
  4. Acetate panel is 2″ x 1-1/2″
  5. White cardstock panel for the back is cut using the scalloped contour dies
  6. Blending Brushes
  7. Party Pool Ink for the sky
  8. Inks for the ocean: Balmy Blue, Costal Cabana, Pacific Point and Night of Navy
  9. Stampin Blends:
  10. Other inks used:

Theater Card

Who doesn’t love to receive a card in the mail that gives you a surprise? I know I would love one…hint hint.

I was looking at Pinterest the other day and saw this card. Of course I had to find out how to make it. I looked at a video tutorial from Karens Kardzz, that you can access here. I decided to try the card for a get well soon card I needed to send to a friend, and liked it so much I made a video tutorial too.

Isn’t this card amazing? To my surprise, it is not complicated to make.

For this card you will need:

Instructions:

For my YouTube tutorial, click here.

  1. From the 4 pieces of cardstock, take one and glue the designer series paper, measuring 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″. This will be our front or the card. Once adhered, we will create the “window”. I used one of my rectangle dies to create it. But if you don’t have one, a good tip is to decide the width you want your edge to be, for example, 3/4″ and just cut all around with your trimmer. I also used the smallest of the circle dies to create the area to pull the “curtains” open.
  2. Now, take 2 of the other pieces of cardstock, which we are going to call the curtains, place the short side against the trimmer, and cut 1/4″, you will be cutting along the 5-1/2″ side. Save those 2 left over pieces, as we will need them in our next step.
  3. Score the left over pieces at 7/8″ and 4-7/8″. I went the old fashioned way and place the thin piece on top of the front panel (step 1), leaving a piece of cardstock on each side and mark it with a pen. After scoring where the mark is, we will fold and glue to the back of the front side… OMG this sounds so confusing! Please check the video tutorial. it makes more sense if you see it. Botton line, with these 2 pieces we are going to create a “bridge” where the curtains are going to go through.
  4. Score the both curtains (step 2) at 2-3/4″ and at 1-3/8″ and fold mountain, both score lines.
  5. Take the piece of patterned paper measuring 3-7/8″ x 5-3/8″. This piece will go on top of the curtains. the whole idea on my card was to create a whole sky, so it is easier if we decorate the piece and then cut it in half which will be at 2-3/4″. I hope that makes sense. Or you can cut the piece in half and decorate accordingly. 🙂 Adhere the pieces to the “curtains”. If there is a scene going on in your card, like mine, make sure you align the pieces correctly.
  6. Let’s work with the back now. Get the piece that measures 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and attach it to the last piece of cardstock. This is the area where you are going to get the surprise for you recipient. In my case is the rainbow and the Happy Birthday sentiment. I would create the decoration on the back before attaching the curtains. Do watch the video... so much easier to explain.

Here is another card I created, using the friendly Hello Friend bundle from Sale-A-Bration.
