Wiper cards

So…. I just discovered Wiper Cards…. and no, I have not been hiding under a rock. I guess that’s because as I am now making videos and learning more about card making, I pay more attention when I am checking out Pinterest or a YouTube video pops up on my feed.

Anyways, wiper cards are cute and super fun to play with. As it happens, when I researched the card, I realized there are several types of wiper cards. Initially, I thought I was going to make a video tutorial with all of them. Thankfully I didn’t, it would probably be a 3 hour long video… So I decided to create a series of wiper card videos with all the variations and sizes I have found. Video Tutorial

Interactive cards tend to be intimidating to make, especially when you, like me, are fairly new to card making, but I am hoping that with the instructions included in the video and all the cutting dimensions, you will be able to create your own card, with no problem.

You will need:

1. Pacific Point cardstock panels cut 4 1/4″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 5-1/2′ and 7″.
2. White heavy cardstock: 2 panels cut 4 1/4″ x 8-3/8″. The front piece will be scored at 1-1/2″ and 3″. The back will be scored at 5-1/2′ and 7″. Most videos tell you to score both pieces at the same 1-1/2″ and 3″, but I feel it can lead to confusion (Maybe I am just easily confused LOL). For the front card, I used the basic border dies, upside down to make the waves. Placed the die, at about 2″ mark.
3. White heave cardstock for the wiper mechanism 1″ x 1-7/8″ (watch the video for scoring and mounting instructions)
4. Acetate panel is 2″ x 1-1/2″
5. White cardstock panel for the back is cut using the scalloped contour dies
6. Blending Brushes
7. Party Pool Ink for the sky
8. Inks for the ocean: Balmy Blue, Costal Cabana, Pacific Point and Night of Navy
9. Stampin Blends:
   • For the hair: light poppy parade, Ivory, Medium Skin Tone combo (I used both of them)
   • For the skin: Light Skin Tone combo and Ivory.
   • For the mermaid tail: Light Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia (used both of them), Pool Party (used both of them) and Light Bermuda Bay.
10. Other inks used:
    • Just Jade turtle
    • Magenta Madness fish
    • Basic Gray birds
    • Calypso Coral and Real Red for coral
